English, as an additional language programme is taught by English language experts. Students whose first language is not English are formally supported in learning English to the point where they can readily access the curriculum.
Depending on the level of English – each student is supported through an individual programme – tailor-made to meet their needs. Initially for some students this may be a significant part of their weekly timetable. The offer to each student is fully shared with and agreed by parents and reviewed on a monthly basis.
In some circumstances if the level of English language, both written and spoken, is not 'curriculum ready', the expectation is the student attends an intensive one-term EAL programme that will be an additional cost to the school fees. *More information on this available from the admissions team during the application process.
