We believe education has to be dynamic, creative, constantly evolving and be open to different and better ways of thinking. Ideas don’t stand still and neither do we. We facilitate the free flow and interplay of ideas and equip our students with the skills to embrace them, apply them and grow with them.

We dare to do things differently; still providing the highest quality of education expected from a premium school, but that is flexible and customised for each child, making it the ideal choice for parents who care as much about how their child receives an education, as well as the end results.

Here are some of the unique ways in which we do things differently:

A Customised Education

We believe that every child and young person is a unique learner. Our goal is to nurture each individual’s potential to learn, grow and make the world a better place. We do this through customising each child’s learning experience.

We embrace each child’s individuality and support their learning journey through a robust academic curriculum crafted to their needs. A Learning Achievement Passport includes a student's personalised timetable, targets, support needs and challenges, and is reviewed collectively and openly with parents and their children every month.

  • Each student has a key personal tutor who will oversee progress throughout their time at school
  • Access to ‘Stage Not Age’ - We offer a dynamic curriculum where students progress based on their interests and abilities, not based solely on their age or grade
  • The school is organised into seven distinct phases of education – from the Early Excellence Centre (nursery) through to Nexus – the pre university centre. This design is to ensure that, while we give learning opportunities to students based on aptitude, attitude and ability, we also meet the emotional and pastoral needs of students in their right age groups – with a particularly strong emphasis on support throughout the middle years (adolescence)
  • Learning is not confined to the classroom. The school is organised into learning zones (for example, 'Thespis' the Performing Arts zone) which are distinct areas where students of all ages have the opportunity to be immersed in facilities and resources that enhance their learning experience.

Imagination And Creativity Applied

We embrace the world of technology, design and business and, by nurturing every student’s imagination through innovation and entrepreneurship, deliver real world experiences that provide students with opportunities to shine and grow.

Encouraging creative thinking and application is the spine that runs through Bloom World Academy. All students will have significant opportunities to experience and be involved in the arts: performance (drama/theatre), dance, music and public speaking; and the creative: art, design, technological, and digital (innovative and traditional). A spiral curriculum, where similar themes and skills will be retaught and returned to in an age-appropriate way, offers opportunities to experience many times or to specialise, from early years through to pre-university.

Our students are taught and encouraged to be inventors; your child will reach their full potential and become future fluent. We create opportunities and experiences across the school with our flexible approaches to teaching and learning (no boundaries – if you’re keen enough you’re old enough) and the experiences we create through:

  • The Lumos Innovation Centre
  • Practical learning activities that harness imagination, bringing them to life and brought to the marketplace!
  • Connections with specialist teachers and programmes
  • Entrepreneurship celebrated and students’ skills and ideas developed with our skilled partners in the vocational world

Emotional Well-being and Character Development

Through our emotional well-being and character-building programmes, based on our values, we affirm that every student’s whole well-being matters; that’s mind, body and spirit - aspects which are intrinsically connected to their academic progress.

Every student, no matter what age, is empowered to take ownership of their own learning and to have a voice on how their school is run. We offer a taught programme of emotional and social well-being to develop values, skills and traits that will last a lifetime.

We know that we can’t separate academic health from the physical and emotional; when students are emotionally well it positively impacts their engagement in class and the wider world around them. “Who am I?”, “Who am I to you?” and “Who am I to the wider world?” are key questions we want every student to be able to answer and this starts with every student knowing and having confidence in who they are and who they can become.

It is the first responsibility of every teacher to establish the necessary support mechanisms and resources to help students develop their values and skills that will allow them to face the future demands of the complex and constantly changing world in which we live.

Well-being is embodied through our pastoral system and at the heart of the student-tutor relationship – put most simply, well-being is integral to our overall purpose of providing an inspiring world of education: building self-belief and empowering individuals to succeed.

Family Education - A Flexible School Day That Works For You

Bloom World Academy employs a flexible school day and is the first school in the Emirates to offer a later start time of 9am for students’ learning to be in balance with family life. As well as honouring young people’s natural sleep cycles, the later start time optimises productivity throughout the school day, resulting in a significant improvement to students’ overall well-being and physical health.

The later start time of 9am is supported by a combination of optional wraparound care and co-curricular activities to widen the curriculum and support the emotional and physical well-being of students, as well as supporting parents who are looking for an extended timeframe of childcare support.

Before the start of the formal school day, between 8:00 - 8:45am, and at the end of each school day, 4:15 - 5:00pm (Monday - Thursday), we offer Bloom Enrichment Learning Activities (BELAs) incorporated within the school fees. These activities include, but are not limited to, sports, performing arts, languages, technology as well as a teacher supervised "homework" club (Personal Learning Time) to extend learning.

Additionally, our on-site Early Excellence Centre supports families with pre-school aged children, making Bloom World Academy a 'one stop shop' for ages 18 months up to 18 years and avoiding the stress and inconvenience of multiple drop-offs in different locations.
